Health tourism, holistically
Who we are
Health is humanity’s shared value.
The World Health Tourism Platform (WHTP) is an initiative that aims to turn knowledge and experience in health into shared value through international cooperation. It supports the development of a human-centred, trustworthy and sustainable health ecosystem.
We bring otherwise disconnected activities together under one institutional approach: knowledge feeds education; education builds institutional capability; quality work strengthens trust; and international cooperation carries this experience to other countries. Our measure of success is the benefit we create — and can demonstrate.
Our evaluation framework: four dimensions
Wider access to care must never come at the expense of quality.
A cost advantage must never come before trust.
Reliable services, clear criteria and independent reference frameworks.
International activity should also contribute to the local health system.
Our focus areas
Each area feeds the others: knowledge becomes education, education becomes capability, quality becomes trust and cooperation becomes shared value.

DSTP Accredited is an independent reference system we plan to develop to support trust, quality and ethics in health tourism. Its method and framework will be developed step by step.
Purpose, scope, institution types and ethical principles.
Indicator definitions and evidence requirements.
Trials and feedback with volunteer institutions.
Review of method, decision and appeal processes.
An assessment programme with a clearly defined scope.
The programme is being developed step by step with an expert working group: method first, then pilot and independent review.
Our approach to quality & ethicsOn our agenda
From ethical principles to our first expert meeting, from country files to training programmes — the topics we are working on. Results will be published here as they are completed.
Core principles for patient communication, information, price transparency and coordination.
A thematic online expert meeting and a core training module are being designed.
Comparable briefing notes with open sources for priority countries.
An invitation to collaborate
We value meeting institutions and professionals who want to create shared value in health, education, research, technology and social benefit. Proposals are assessed in line with the platform’s aims and working priorities.
